The Mabius Food Startup Centre will invest 1 billion rubles by the end of 2015 into the development of 50 new products, the founder of the center and co-owner of the Nizhny Novgorod Fats & Oils Group (NMGK) Ivan Sidorok told RIA Novosti.
The Mabius Center was founded in 2014 with the main task of helping food product creators either start from scratch or help scale an already-developed business. Mabius conducts market research and develops design, manufacturing methods, and product distribution. Mabius’ main client is NMGK, a top three market leader in the production and processing of fats.
“Investments through the end of 2015 total 1 billion rubles. By the end of the year, Mabius plans to invest and develop 50 products (15-20 million rubles each), and bring at least another four products to market,” said Sidorok, adding that already, the children’s snack Marc&Fisa Frustiki released with the help of Mabius, is already currently on sale in stores.
“Its important for the entrepreneurs participants at Mabius to understand that this is not only the a way to enter the mass Russian market, but that in collaboration with the culinary startup center, new products have a direct prospect to enter Asian markets,” added the center founder.
According to Sidorok, the center’s spheres of interests include breakfast cereals, dried fruits, chips, sauces, spices, and corn sticks. Beginning autumn of 2015, drink production will start.
