Mabius participants Andrey Ryvkin, Marianna Orlinkova, Alexander Denisov and Valeria Opanasyuk were interviewed by TV Rain (Dozhd) at the 2015 World Expo in Milan. Their projects were selected to represent Mabius Food Startup Centre at the Russian Pavilion at the expo on October 22, 2015. The four individuals held a joint food tasting that featured Ryvkin’s crab from the Barents Sea and original sauces from United Kitchen, Orlinkova and Denisov’s gourmet porridge Nashi Kashi (Our Porridge) and Opanasyuk’s CheeseBox, kits for making cheese at home.

“We are bringing back the taste of natural products that Russians can be proud of,” said Orlinkova, who along with her business partner Alexander Denisov, treated Expo guests to samples of pumpkin-gingerbread crumb millet porridge.

Not long ago, Valeria Opanasyuk was a financial consultant at AFK Sistema. The entrepreneur and her husband, discouraged by the lack of quality cheese in stores due to sanctions, decided to start making their own mozzarella, chevre, ricotta, halloumi, and goat cheese at home.

Ryvkin, the head chef at United Kitchen, impressed visitors with massive king crabs.

The Mabius food tasting lasted 45 minutes and was attended by over 400 people and more than 10 journalists. Several other Russian food companies were serving traditional Russian food, such as beef stroganoff and kvas.
